good idea with the 'real time' conversation thing for VCE students. It's a pain writing an e-mail or posting a comment on one of the wikis or blogs and anxiously awaiting a reply, which normally comes the next day!

good luck for next year

I will start by saying excellent work and I can see you have put lots of effort and thought into your reflections here. My favourite part was your video around your class values as I think that they are very important to not only your teaching but I will probably also reflect on some of those values too.
My main concerns have already been reflected here by the others though as my own style is more reading lots of information I personally don't see as much wrong with it.
But anyway Good work and well done on both the Hawker Brownlow and the PD week organisation

Cam,

While I agree with Miriam in that there is a bit much text (maybe you could simplify some of the intro stuff), there is so much here that I enjoyed reading. My favourite bit is your classroom values, and I would really love you to put a version on the website so it doesn't have to be downloaded. I think it might discourage some from viewing this fantasic part of your work!

Great work!

Hi Cam,

Thankyou for inviting me to provide feedback on your professional journey. I think that your blog is very easy to navigate through which is great! User friendliness is always important when it comes to using technology as a tool to convey information. However, I have to say it was quite a lot of reading with no pictures in this part of the blog. I have an interest in your content which encouraged me to read through, perhaps if it was more streamlined, more colours or pics to 'change the scenery' as people work through it would make it even more appealing to the viewer. I wish you all the success on your journey.

Cheers

Thanks for your report Cam! I like the idea of using a bell to get the students attention. Its a bit more individual, and the kids probably wouldn't find it boring like the 'raise your hand' thing. You couldn't use a signal like that too often though, it would lose its effectiveness. I was thinking it would be a great way to control groupwork, as this is probably the noisiest activity. I'll have to find something with an interesting noise now...you're bringing out the percussionist in me!

I do like the way you have set it out :). My one concern that I noticed was that you haven't described what you consider to be "best practice" in this area. (Though on reflection it is difficult to describe best practice for assessment.)
I like how you have samples of the students' work to back up what you are saying.

Hey Cam,
This is a really great piece of work which covers all relevant criteria. I myself am forcusing on assessment and it was interesting to see what you focused on since it is such a large area. It reflects a well researched and well written report :)

In my own assignment I have focused more on theory and comparing academic journals from around the world regarding best practise of formative assessment. Let me know if you would like the names of the articles.

Cam thankyou for sharing this. It is a great help to all of us and says a lot about your character.

This seems such an excellent medium for presenting these assignments and a portfolio, especially with the potential to upload photos and other media. Great job!

I think that what you have done is a great idea. It is very easy to understand and very well set out. It is great to see how you have combined your personal attributes and teaching attributes together.
